Meandry kultury popularnej

Abstrakt:
Literatura popularna zawsze wzbudzała spore emocje i problemy badawcze. Jedna z grup badaczy, którą reprezentował Piotr Kowalski, zdecydowanie ją krytykowała. W latach 90. pojawiła się nowa grupa naukowców, którzy próbowali innych metod badawczych, przede wszystkim podchodzili do tej literatury (w szczególności do fantasy) ze znaczniej mniejszym krytycyzmem. Spotkało się to z ostrym sprzeciwem Kowalskiego, który nie godząc się na taki sposób rozumienia literatury popularnej, dał temu wyraz zwłaszcza w dwóch swoich tekstach. Obecny artykuł jest z jednej strony prezentacją poglądów Kowalskiego, z drugiej zaś próbą polemiki z tymi poglądami.
